On short-haul flights with buy-on-board service, you can pre-order high-quality products from the Austrian Melangerie menu online in Economy Class and purchase them on board.

In Business Class and Premium Economy on intercontinental flights from Vienna you can select your complimentary hot main course.
In Economy Class on short-haul flights, fresh products from the Austrian Melangerie menu can be pre-ordered. Beverages and snacks can be purchased directly on board.

In Business Class and Premium Economy on intercontinental flights, you can select your favorite option only for the main meal of the first service on board.
On short-haul flights with buy-on-board service you can make your pre-order in the period of four weeks before your flight and up to 48 hours before your flight.

In Business Class or Premium Economy on intercontinental flights you can even pre-order your meal between six weeks to 6 hours before departure.
To view your flights, please enter your first name, surname, booking code or ticket number. You can then select from the available products for the flights on which this option is available.
In Economy Class on continental flights, you may pre-order up to five products.

In Business Class or Premium Economy on intercontinental flights you can only make one choice for the main meal of the first service on board.
In Economy class, you can pre-order up to five products to share with your travel companions until the overall order limitations for a flight have been reached.

In Business Class or Premium Economy, you have to select a meal for your travel companions individually.
You will receive a confirmation by email.
You will receive your products during the regular service on board your flight.
You can purchase additional products on board, such as drinks, together with your pre-ordered products in order to benefit from the offers on the menu. The associated discounts are automatically deducted at the time of payment.
Payment is processed during the in-flight service on board. Contactless payment is only possible with Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Maestro and Apple as well as Google Pay. We do not accept cash.
The selected main dish is included in the ticket fare and no additional costs apply.
Special Meals are not available in Economy Class on continental flights, so they cannot be pre-ordered. However, the buy-on-board Austrian Melangerie menu offers you an extensive selection of products, including, for example, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and more.

For long-haul flights, the Special Meal can be ordered with the booking number. If you have ordered a Special Meal, you will always receive this instead of your selection made on this website.

There are a variety of reasons why you can’t pre-order products for a flight. The most common ones are:

  • Your flight is not operated by Austrian Airlines.

  • Pre-orders are not possible for flights with a flight time of more than 180 minutes. On these flights, a meal is already included in your ticket.

  • Pre-orders are not possible for Austrian Holiday flights. On these flights, one meal is already included in your ticket.

  • The pre-order period has not yet started or has already expired. The period extends for four weeks up to 48 hours before departure.

  • The maximum load quantity has already been reached on a flight, so no additional products can be ordered.

Yes, you can still purchase many products on board, depending on their availability. However, we recommend that you select your preferred meal in advance to ensure that your desired product is on board.
Unfortunately, in case of flight rebooking, we cannot ensure that you will receive your originally selected products. On short-haul Economy Class flights, you can still purchase products directly on board (subject to availability). Up to 48 hours before departure, you can cancel your old selection and place a pre-order for your new flight.

Auf Langstreckenflügen in der Business Class und Premium Economy wählen Sie immer eine Hauptmahlzeit von der Speisekarte nach Verfügbarkeit an Bord. Bis spätestens 6 Stunden, können Sie außerdem Ihre alte Auswahl stornieren und eine Vorbestellung für Ihren neuen Flug durchführen.
